System Engineer

Job Purpose

As a System engineer, you will be responsible for providing support for the company's IT systems and ensuring the optimal performance of the Oracle & MS SQL databases. You will work closely with the IT team to ensure that the systems are running smoothly, and any issues are resolved in a timely manner. You will also participate in the implementation of new systems and databases.

ACCOUNTIBILITIES

• Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of Oracle & MS SQL databases.
• Monitor database performance and optimize queries to ensure efficient operation.
• Participate in the planning and execution of system upgrades and migrations.
• Monitor and maintain the company's IT systems and network infrastructure.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as updates, and patches.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any hardware and software issues related to the systems and databases.
• Provide L1 technical support to end-users and other members of the IT team.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in system engineering or database administration.
• Solid understanding of Oracle & MS SQL databases architecture and administration.
• Familiarity with database monitoring and performance optimization tools.
• Knowledge of SQL/PLSQL, Linux, and networking protocols.
• Preferred familiarity with ticketing & CMDB systems
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team and effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
