Relationship Manager

Job Purpose

The Relationship Manager – SMEs & Micro (Development Finance) as well as MID CAP will be responsible for initiating, developing, and managing strategic relationships with financial institutions, microfinance banks, and other stakeholders involved in MSME financing. The employee will promote the Company’s credit guarantee products, support partners in expanding their MSME and micro-lending portfolios, and ensure effective delivery of development finance objectives and impact outcomes.

ACCOUNTIBILITIES

Business Development and Partner Engagement

• Identify and engage potential partner financial institutions, microfinance banks and fintechs with the capacity to expand MSME and micro-lending under guarantee facilities.
• Structure, negotiate, and finalize guarantee partnerships in line with both commercial and development finance objectives.
• Promote awareness and understanding of the Company’s guarantee instruments and their role in financial inclusion.

Relationship and Account Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned financial partners and stakeholders.
• Maintain and deepen strategic relationships to enhance guarantee utilization and partner satisfaction.
• Conduct regular review meetings with partner institutions to assess portfolio performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Provide continuous support to partners in guarantee administration, claims processing, and portfolio reporting.

Portfolio Management and Monitoring

• Manage the performance of the MSME and micro guarantee portfolio to ensure effective utilization, sound risk management, and compliance with guarantee agreements.
• Monitor key portfolio indicators, including utilization rates, default ratios, and claims performance, and recommend mitigation measures as necessary.
• Work closely with internal departments (Risk, Operations, Monitoring & Evaluation) to ensure data integrity and accurate performance reporting.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in relationship management, MSME financing, or development finance, preferably within a financial institution, DFI, or credit guarantee organization.
• Strong understanding of development finance principles, financial inclusion strategies, and impact measurement frameworks.
• Familiarity with risk-sharing mechanisms, blended finance models, and donor-funded programs will be an advantage.
• Credit Course is mandatory.
